Turtle Lake is a village in Barron County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 1,065 at the 2000 census. The village is located partially within the Town of Almena in Barron County and partially within the Town of Beaver in Polk County, Wisconsin. The Town of Turtle Lake is also located in Barron County just south of the village. Turtle Lake is located at 45 °23 47 N, 92 °8 49 W (45.396604, -92.146974) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 7.6 km (2.9 mi ). 7.3 km (2.8 mi ) of it is land and 0.3 km (0.1 mi ) of it (4.44%) is water. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,065 people, 475 households, and 268 families residing in the village. The population density was 146.9/km (380.7/mi ). There were 508 housing units at an average density of 70.1/km (181.6/mi ). The racial makeup of the village was 94.37% White, 4.51% Native American, 0.28% Asian, and 0.85% from two or more races.
