Cumberland is a city in Barron County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 2,280 at the 2000 census. The city is located partially within the Town of Cumberland.

Cumberland is known as "The Island City" because it is nearly surrounded by the waters of Beaver Dam Lake.

Cumberland is known for hosting the "Rutabaga Festival" each year, always the weekend preceding Labor Day weekend. This popular festival features live music, carnival rides, food, a parade, and a variety of other events.

Cumberland is located at 45 °32 9 N, 92 °1 24 W (45.535892, -92.023389) GR1, along Beaver Dam Lake at the beginning of the Hay River.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.3 km (4.0 mi ). 8.8 km (3.4 mi ) of it is land and 1.5 km (0.6 mi ) of it (14.82%) is water.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 2,280 people, 1,013 households, and 607 families residing in the city. The population density was 258.9/km (671.5/mi ). There were 1,134 housing units at an average density of 128.8/km (334.0/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 97.54% White, 0.09% Black or African American, 1.10% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.13% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.75% of the population.
