Canton is a town in Buffalo County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 304 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 92.7 km (35.8 mi ), all land. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 304 people, 102 households, and 88 families residing in the town. The population density was 3.3/km (8.5/mi ). There were 112 housing units at an average density of 1.2/km (3.1/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 98.36% White, 0.33% African American, 0.33% Asian, and 0.99% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.32% of the population. There were 102 households out of which 42.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.5% were married couples living together, 3.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.7% were non-families. 11.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
