Marengo is a town in Ashland County in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The population was 362 at the 2000 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 187.3 km (72.3 mi ). 184.7 km (71.3 mi ) of it is land and 2.5 km (1.0 mi ) of it (1.36%) is water. Two rivers run through the town of Marengo. Along the northern border is the Marengo River, flowing from the West, and along the southern border, flowing from the South West is the Brunsweiler River.

As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 362 people, 132 households, and 99 families residing in the town. The population density was 2.0/km (5.1/mi ). There were 191 housing units at an average density of 1.0/km (2.7/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 96.96% White, 2.49% Native American, 0.28% Asian and 0.28% Pacific Islander. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.28% of the population.

There were 132 households out of which 40.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.1% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 21.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.74 and the average family size was 3.19.
