White Center, WA Real Estate

White Center is a census-designated place and neighborhood located six miles south of downtown Seattle in unincorporated King County, Washington, USA, just north of Burien and just southeast of West Seattle.

White Center has historically been regarded as an impoverished area with high crime rates. While some gentrification has recently occurred due to its proximity to Seattle, the area still faces significant issues relating to car theft, drugs, and violence. Poverty rates here are among the highest in the Seattle metropolitan area. Recent efforts by the local Community Development Association, an organic, neighborhood-based group, have encouraged small businesses such as Cafe Rozella to work with local police in revitalizing neighborhoods and discouraging criminal activity.

White Center has been considered a possible target of annexation by both Burien and Seattle.
