Clinton, WA Real Estate

Clinton is a census-designated place located on south Whidbey Island in Island County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the village population was 868 "Clintonians". However, the post office serves at least 2,500 people. The centre of Clinton is referred to as "the village," as the centre of most island communities are.

Clinton is the western terminus of the Whidbey Island (Clinton)-to- Mukilteo Washington State Ferries route. It is served by Washington State Route 525 and several major county roads.

Even though the village area of Clinton is small, people as far as 7 miles (11.5 km) away consider Clinton to be their home. Much of the village teeters on a high bluff overlooking Saratoga Passage on Puget Sound. However, the community of Columbia Beach rests at sea level.

The village lost its single gas station in the 1990s when the cost of renovating the underground tanks to meet environmental requirements proved prohibitive. Three years later, another gas station was built (a Chevron ), and within the postal boundaries are two others: one Exxons and another Chevron. There is a grocery store in the village and one other within the postal boundaries. Additionally Clinton boasts the only fast food restaurants, a Dairy Queen and a Subway on the South End of Whidbey Island.
