Pomeroy is a city in Garfield County, Washington, United States. The population was 1,517 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Garfield County GR6.

Pomeroy was officially incorporated on February 3, 1886.

Pomeroy is located at 46 °28 24 N, 117 °35 53 W (46.473334, -117.598119) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.6 km (1.8 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,517 people, 645 households, and 408 families residing in the city. The population density was 329.1/km (852.2/mi ). There were 740 housing units at an average density of 160.5/km (415.7/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 96.37% White, 0.53% Native American, 0.40% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 1.52% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.24% of the population.

There were 645 households out of which 25.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.0% were married couples living together, 7.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.7% were non-families. 33.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.1% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.29 and the average family size was 2.92.
