Othello is a 3.4 square mile city in Adams County, Washington, United States. The population was 5,847 at the 2000 census. Othello refers to the city as being in the Heart of the Columbia Basin Project. It is located approximately 100 miles southwest of Spokane, 180 miles east of Seattle, and about 25 miles south of Interstate 90, at the intersection of WA 17 and WA 26.

Othello was officially incorporated on May 31, 1910.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.8 km (3.0 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 5,847 people, 1,788 households, and 1,412 families residing in the city. The population density was 752.5/km (1,949.7/mi ). There were 1,864 housing units at an average density of 239.9/km (621.6/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 54.18% White, 0.53% African American, 1.01% Native American, 1.01% Asian, 0.09% Pacific Islander, 39.54% from other races, and 3.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 63.76% of the population.
