Hatton was officially incorporated on July 31, 1907.

Hatton is located at 46 °46 32 N, 118 °49 41 W (46.775419, -118.827931) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 km (0.4 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 98 people, 32 households, and 24 families residing in the town. The population density was 102.3/km (262.7/mi ). There were 35 housing units at an average density of 36.5/km (93.8/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 79.59% White, 1.02% Native American, 16.33% from other races, and 3.06% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 16.33% of the population.

There were 32 households out of which 43.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.6% were married couples living together, 3.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% were non-families. 25.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.06 and the average family size was 3.58.
