West Lake Hills, TX Real Estate

West Lake Hills is a city in Travis County, Texas, United States. The population was 3,116 at the 2000 census, and 3,021 in the 2005 census estimate. The city is an upscale suburb of Austin, located on the southwest side of Austin on the edge of the Hill Country. The city developed rapidly in the 1970s and 1980s with many luxury homes in the hills on the south side of the Colorado River.

West Lake Hills is located at 30 °17 23 N, 97 °48 24 W (30.289806, -97.806531) GR1, 4 miles (6 km) west of downtown Austin.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 9.7 km (3.7 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 3,116 people, 1,143 households, and 873 families residing in the city. The population density was 322.5/km (835.7/mi ). There were 1,185 housing units at an average density of 122.7/km (317.8/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 95.60% White, 0.29% African American, 0.29% Native American, 1.28% Asian, 0.71% from other races, and 1.83% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.85% of the population.
