Mansfield is a city located in Johnson County, Tarrant County, and Ellis County Texas ( USA ). According to the 2006 census estimate, the city has a population of 49,000. Mansfield is located at 32 °34 38 N, 97 °7 36 W (32.577087, -97.126699) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 94.6 km (36.5 mi ). 94.5 km (36.5 mi ) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.04 mi ) of it (0.11%) is water. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 28,031 people, 8,881 households, and 7,646 families residing in the city. The population density was 296.7/km (768.5/mi ). There were 9,172 housing units at an average density of 97.1/km (251.4/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 86.41% White, 4.40% African American, 0.57% Native American, 1.23% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 5.67% from other races, and 1.71% from two or more races. 12.75% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race. There were 8,881 households out of which 50.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.5% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 13.9% were non-families. 10.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
