Amity is a city in Yamhill County, Oregon, United States. The population was 1,478 at the 2000 census.

Amity is located at 45 °6 59 N, 123 °12 20 W (45.116253, -123.205619) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 km (0.6 mi ). 1.6 km (0.6 mi ) of it is land and 1.64% is water.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,478 people, 471 households, and 373 families residing in the city. The population density was 951.1/km (2,461.0/mi ). There were 495 housing units at an average density of 318.5/km (824.2/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 90.73% White, 0.14% African American, 1.42% Native American, 0.68% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 5.01% from other races, and 1.96% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 11.50% of the population.

There were 471 households out of which 45.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% were married couples living together, 11.7% had a female householder with no husband present, and 20.6% were non-families. 15.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 6.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.14 and the average family size was 3.42.
