Cayuse is a census-designated place (CDP) and unincorporated community in Umatilla County, Oregon, United States, located 11 miles east of Pendleton on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The population was 59 at the 2000 census.
According to Oregon Geographic Names, Cayuse, named for the Cayuse people, began as a railroad station and post office, which was established in 1867.
Cayuse is located at 45 °40 32 N, 118 °34 26 W (45.675535, -118.574012) GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.5 km (2.9 mi ), all land.

The racial makeup of the CDP was 42.37% White, 1.69% African American, 49.15% Native American, 3.39% from other races, and 3.39% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 5.08% of the population.
