Woodburn, OR Real Estate

Woodburn is a city in Marion County, Oregon, United States. Lewis McArthur records a verbal tradition told to him by Charles E. Nebergall that Woodburn was named in the 1880s, after the railroad line had been laid thourgh the area, for a slash burn that got out of control and burned down a nearby woodlot. The population was 20,100 at the 2000 census.

Woodburn was founded by Jesse H. Settlemier. There is a museum called the Settlemier house located on Settlemier Avenue, both of which were named after him.

Woodburn has a history of being a large farming community.

Woodburn is located at 45 °8 50 N, 122 °51 30 W (45.147258, -122.858436) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.5 km (5.2 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 20,100 people, 6,274 households, and 4,492 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,492.4/km (3,865.8/mi ). There were 6,824 housing units at an average density of 506.7/km (1,312.5/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 58.12% White, 0.45% African American, 1.17% Native American, 0.53% Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 35.66% from other races, and 4.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 50.07% of the population.
