Westerville is a city in Franklin and Delaware Counties in Ohio. It is a suburb of Columbus. Westerville is located at 40 °7 25 N, 82 °55 17 W (40.123496, -82.921432) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 32.1 km (12.4 mi ). None of the area is covered with water. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 35,318 people, 12,663 households, and 9,547 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,100.6/km (2,851.1/mi ). There were 13,143 housing units at an average density of 409.6/km (1,061.0/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 93.54% White, 3.20% African American, 0.13% Native American, 1.55% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.36% from other races, and 1.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.07% of the population. Of the 12,663 households, 39.3% of those have children under the age of 18 living with them, 64.8% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% were non-families. 20.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
