Valleyview is located at 39 °57 54 N, 83 °4 22 W (39.964863, -83.072761) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 km (0.2 mi ), all land.

The cities of Minerva Park, Bexley, Whitehall, and Valleyview are enclaves of Columbus.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 601 people, 258 households, and 168 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,547.0/km (3,957.6/mi ). There were 267 housing units at an average density of 687.3/km (1,758.2/mi ). The racial makeup of the village was 96.17% White, 1.00% African American, 0.17% Native American, 2.33% Asian, and 0.33% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.17% of the population.

There were 258 households out of which 24.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.3% were married couples living together, 8.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 34.5% were non-families. 28.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.33 and the average family size was 2.86.
