Groveport is a village in Franklin County, Ohio, United States. The population was 3,865 at the 2000 census, and estimated to be 4,753 as of 2005.

Groveport was the hometown of John Solomon Rarey, a nineteenth century horse whisperer, and developer of the Rarey technique for rehabilitating horses. This method was the basis for the novel and motion picture The Horse Whisperer.

Groveport is located at 39 °51 22 N, 82 °53 26 W (39.856163, -82.890544) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 20.7 km (8.0 mi ). 20.7 km (8.0 mi ) of it is land and 0.12% is water.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 3,865 people, 1,575 households, and 1,080 families residing in the village. The population density was 186.5/km (482.9/mi ). There were 1,668 housing units at an average density of 80.5/km (208.4/mi ). The racial makeup of the village was 92.88% White, 3.62% African American, 0.62% Native American, 1.09% Asian, 0.57% from other races, and 1.22% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.27% of the population.
