Solen is a city in Sioux County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 86 at the 2000 census. Solen was founded in 1910. Solen is located along the Cannonball River, west of the Missouri, at 46 °23 16 N, 100 °47 45 W (46.387758, -100.795812) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.8 km (0.3 mi ), all land. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 86 people, 36 households, and 23 families residing in the city. The population density was 110.7/km (287.0/mi ). There were 43 housing units at an average density of 55.3/km (143.5/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 34.88% White and 65.12% Native American. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 3.49% of the population. There were 36 households out of which 30.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.1% were married couples living together, 22.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.1% were non-families. 27.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
