Lawton is a city in Ramsey County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 42 at the 2000 census. Lawton was founded in 1902. Lawton is located at 48 °18 11 N, 98 °21 53 W (48.302955, -98.364814) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.6 km (1.0 mi ). 2.4 km (0.9 mi ) of it is land and 0.2 km (0.1 mi ) of it (7.92%) is water. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 42 people, 24 households, and 10 families residing in the city. The population density was 17.4/km (45.3/mi ). There were 38 housing units at an average density of 15.8/km (41.0/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 97.62% White, and 2.38% from two or more races. There were 24 households out of which 12.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.5% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 54.2% were non-families. 54.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 29.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
