Carson is a city in Grant County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Grant County GR6. The population was 319 at the 2000 census. Carson was founded in 1910. Carson is located at 46 °25 15 N, 101 °34 1 W (46.420706, -101.567025) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.4 km (4.0 mi ), all land. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 319 people, 154 households, and 83 families residing in the city. The population density was 30.6/km (79.4/mi ). There were 201 housing units at an average density of 19.3/km (50.1/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 96.87% White, 1.25% from other races, and 1.88% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.25% of the population. There were 154 households out of which 23.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.2% were married couples living together, 8.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 45.5% were non-families. 44.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 30.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
