Hazelton is a city in Emmons County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 237 at the 2000 census. Hazelton was founded in 1902. To combat population loss, city leaders of Hazelton have offered free land and start up money for people to move there [1]. Hazelton is located at 46 °29 3 N, 100 °16 44 W (46.484278, -100.278811) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.6 km (0.2 mi ), all land. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 237 people, 117 households, and 62 families residing in the city. The population density was 381.3/km (988.5/mi ). There were 129 housing units at an average density of 207.5/km (538.0/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 100.00% White. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.27% of the population. There were 117 households out of which 21.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 47.9% were married couples living together, 2.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 47.0% were non-families. 46.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 29.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
