Leeds is a city in Benson County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was 464 at the 2000 census. Leeds was founded in 1887. Leeds is located at 48 °17 22 N, 99 °26 20 W (48.289356, -99.438965) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.2 km (0.5 mi ), all land. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 464 people, 212 households, and 129 families residing in the city. The population density was 389.5/km (1,018.8/mi ). There were 282 housing units at an average density of 236.7/km (619.2/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 96.98% White, 0.65% African American and 2.37% Native American. There were 212 households out of which 28.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.4% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.7% were non-families. 37.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 23.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
