Boulder is a town in Jefferson County, Montana, United States. The population was 1,300 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Jefferson County GR6. Boulder is located at 46 °14 11 N, 112 °7 19 W (46.236300, -112.121823) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 3.0 km (1.1 mi ), all land. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,300 people, 508 households, and 316 families residing in the town. The population density was 440.3/km (1,142.7/mi ). There were 568 housing units at an average density of 192.4/km (499.3/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 94.23% White, 0.23% African American, 2.31% Native American, 0.69% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.31% from other races, and 2.15% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.15% of the population. There were 508 households out of which 32.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.6% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.6% were non-families. 34.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 12.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
