Satartia, MS Real Estate

Satartia is a village in Yazoo County, Mississippi, United States. The population was 68 at the 2000 census. Satartia is an American Indian (probably Choctaw ) word for pumpkin or "pumpkin patch," rumored to be due to the small gourds that grow around the area. It was founded in the mid 1800s and was famous for the Satartia Rifles, a civil war regiment and recruitment group. Currently there are two small country grocery stores and a cotton processing gin.

Satartia is located at 32 °40 13 N, 90 °32 46 W (32.670270, -90.546130) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.4 km (0.2 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 68 people, 28 households, and 22 families residing in the village. The population density was 175.0/km (454.5/mi ). There were 32 housing units at an average density of 82.4/km (213.9/mi ). The racial makeup of the village was 85.29% White and 14.71% African American.
