Stacy is a city in Chisago County, Minnesota, along the Sunrise River. The population was 1,278 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.0 km (1.1 mi ). 2.8 km (1.1 mi ) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.1 mi ) of it (4.35%) is water. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 1,278 people, 466 households, and 326 families residing in the city. The population density was 448.6/km (1,159.0/mi ). There were 474 housing units at an average density of 166.4/km (429.8/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 96.79% White, 0.55% African American, 1.25% Native American, 0.16% Asian, 0.16% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.94% of the population. There were 466 households out of which 42.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.9% were married couples living together, 13.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 22.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 5.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
