Morton is a city in Renville County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 442 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.2 km (1.2 mi ). 3.1 km (1.2 mi ) of it is land and 0.1 km (0.04 mi ) of it (1.63%) is water. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 442 people, 199 households, and 118 families residing in the city. The population density was 141.0/km (364.0/mi ). There were 216 housing units at an average density of 68.9/km (177.9/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 90.05% White, 8.14% Native American, 0.90% from other races, and 0.90% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 6.11% of the population. There were 199 households out of which 24.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.2% were married couples living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 40.7% were non-families. 34.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
