North Oaks is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States, noted for its unusual affluence. All streets in North Oaks are privately owned. The population was 3,883 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 22.4 km (8.7 mi ). 18.9 km (7.3 mi ) of it is land and 3.5 km (1.4 mi ) of it (15.59%) is water. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 3,883 people, 1,300 households, and 1,177 families residing in the city. The population density was 205.1/km (531.0/mi ). There were 1,332 housing units at an average density of 70.4/km (182.1/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 93.33% White, 0.31% African American, 0.15% Native American, 4.61% Asian, 0.03% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 1.00% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.21% of the population. There were 1,300 households out of which 41.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 86.5% were married couples living together, 2.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 9.4% were non-families. 7.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 3.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
