Hendrum is a city in Norman County, Minnesota, in the Red River Valley between the Red River of the North and the Wild Rice River. The population was 315 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.7 km (0.3 mi ), all land. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 315 people, 120 households, and 84 families residing in the city. The population density was 434.4/km (1,112.3/mi ). There were 139 housing units at an average density of 191.7/km (490.8/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 95.24% White, 1.59% Native American, 0.32% Asian, 2.86% from other races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.44% of the population. There were 120 households out of which 37.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.5% were married couples living together, 7.5% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.0% were non-families. 27.5% of all households were made up of individuals and 15.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
