Raymond is a city in Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 803 at the 2000 census. Apol's Harley Davidson draws many Harley enthusiasts from the west-central Minnesota area to its dealership. Raymond High School consoidated with Clara City and Maynard High Schools in the late 1980's to create the MACCRAY (Maynard-Clara City-Raymond Independent School District). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.6 km (0.6 mi ), all land. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 803 people, 310 households, and 222 families residing in the city. The population density was 508.3/km (1,316.3/mi ). There were 332 housing units at an average density of 210.1/km (544.2/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 95.89% White, 0.12% African American, 0.37% Native American, 2.37% from other races, and 1.25% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.36% of the population. There were 310 households out of which 37.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.7% were married couples living together, 10.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.1% were non-families. 25.2% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
