Riverview is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 13,272 at the 2000 census.

The city is a suburb in the Metro Detroit area, located along the shore of the Detroit River. It measures 11.4 km (4.4 square miles) in area. Riverview incorporated as a village in 1922 and as a city in 1959.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.7 km (4.5 mi ). 11.4 km (4.4 mi ) of it is land and 0.3 km (0.1 mi ) of it (2.65%) is water.

As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 13,272 people, 5,352 households, and 3,569 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,162.0/km (3,012.6/mi ). There were 5,532 housing units at an average density of 484.3/km (1,255.7/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 94.16% White, 2.08% African American, 0.43% Native American, 1.88% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 1.12% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.46% of the population.
