Marlette, MI Real Estate

Marlette is a city in Sanilac County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,104 at the 2000 census. The city is located within Marlette Township.

Marlette is known as "The Heart of the Thumb" due to its location in Michigan. It is a relatively small community, with its own 9-hole golf course, public pools, and a municipal airport. Active Homes, a producer of modular homes had a factory located here, as well had factories producing automotive parts. Crops grown here include corn, beans and sugar beets. For the most part, Marlette is a closely knit rural community which is only an hour away from several urban centers, including Saginaw, Flint and Port Huron. Detroit is two hours south.

Some local businesses include: Beagio's Pizza, Eddie G's, CC's Cyber Cafe, Huntoon Lumber, and Marlette Oil & Gas.

The town has a small community hospital known as Marlette Community Hospital, which was recently named Marlette Regional Hospital. The hospital recently expanded to include Seton Cancer Institute - a joint collaboration between St. Mary's and Marlette Community Hospital. This provides local residents with treatment without traveling so far.
