Pleasant Ridge is a city in Oakland County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,594 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.5 km (0.6 mi ), all land. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 2,594 people, 1,110 households, and 712 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,757.1/km (4,563.7/mi ). There were 1,129 housing units at an average density of 764.8/km (1,986.3/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 96.57% White, 0.85% African American, 0.42% Native American, 0.89% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.39% from other races, and 0.85% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.77% of the population. There were 1,110 households out of which 29.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.5% were married couples living together, 7.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.8% were non-families. 26.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
