Ashley is a village in Gratiot County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 526 at the 2000 census. No major state trunkline goes through the town although M-57 bypasses it by roughly 1 mile.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.7 km (0.6 mi ), all land.

As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 526 people, 193 households, and 141 families residing in the village. The population density was 317.3/km (815.9/mi ). There were 206 housing units at an average density of 124.3/km (319.5/mi ). The racial makeup of the village was 99.24% White, 0.38% African American, 0.19% from other races, and 0.19% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.38% of the population.

There were 193 households out of which 33.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.5% were married couples living together, 9.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 26.9% were non-families. 23.3% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 2.91.
