Cutler is a town in Washington County, Maine, United States. The population was 623 at the 2000 census. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 301.3 km (116.3 mi ). 121.7 km (47.0 mi ) of it is land and 179.6 km (69.3 mi ) of it (59.60%) is water. As of the census 2 of 2000, there were 623 people, 238 households, and 178 families residing in the town. The population density was 5.1/km (13.3/mi ). There were 348 housing units at an average density of 2.9/km (7.4/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 96.47% White, 1.61% African American, 0.64% Native American, 0.48% Asian, and 0.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.09% of the population. There were 238 households out of which 38.2% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.4% were married couples living together, 3.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.8% were non-families. 20.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 7.6% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older.
