Forest City is a city in Iowa, United States. The population was 4,362 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Winnebago County and is also partially located in Hancock County GR6. It is the headquarters of Winnebago Industries, which manufactures motorhomes. It is also the home of Waldorf College, a small college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Forest City claims to be the smallest city in the United States with its own YMCA. Pilot Knob State Park is located a few miles east of the town. Forest City is located at 43 °15 43 N, 93 °38 25 W (43.262077, -93.640302) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.8 km (4.2 mi ). None of the area is covered with water. The Forest City Municipal Airport serves general aviation in the area.
