Martensdale is a city in Warren County, Iowa, United States. The population was 467 at the 2000 census.

Martensdale is located at 41 °22 23 N, 93 °44 23 W (41.373148, -93.739661) GR1, along the Middle River. [1] According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 km (0.4 mi ), all land.

The Great Western Trail has its southern terminus in Martensdale. [2]

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 467 people, 174 households, and 129 families residing in the city. The population density was 474.5/km (1,236.3/mi ). There were 181 housing units at an average density of 183.9/km (479.2/mi ). The racial makeup of the city was 98.50% White, 0.43% Native American, 0.21% Pacific Islander, 0.21% from other races, and 0.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.71% of the population.

There were 174 households out of which 38.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.3% were married couples living together, 8.0% had a female householder with no husband present, and 25.3% were non-families. 23.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.68 and the average family size was 3.15.
