K «hei is located at 20 °45 33 N, 156 °27 26 W (20.759122, -156.457228) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 30.8 km (11.9 mi ). 26.3 km (10.2 mi ) of it is land and 4.5 km (1.7 mi ) of it (14.55%) is water.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 16,749 people, 6,170 households, and 3,813 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 636.5/km (1,648.6/mi ). There were 9,170 housing units at an average density of 348.5/km (902.6/mi ). The racial makeup of the CDP was 47.76% White, 0.74% African American, 0.48% Native American, 24.72% Asian, 7.85% Pacific Islander, 1.58% from other races, and 16.87% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.52% of the population.

There were 6,170 households out of which 32.0% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 45.7% were married couples living together, 10.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 38.2% were non-families. 25.7% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.70 and the average family size was 3.31.
