Medley is a town in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The community was named after its founder, Sylvester Medley. The population was 1,098 at the 2000 census. As of 2004, the population recorded by the U.S. Census Bureau is 1,076 [1]. Located in the western part of the county, its primary tax base is industrial development, which is why the population is so small and the city so dense. Medley is located at 25 °51 30 N, 80 °20 21 W (25.858307, -80.339141) GR1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 11.1 km (4.3 mi ). 9.8 km (3.8 mi ) of it is land and 1.3 km (0.5 mi ) of it (12.09%) is water. As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,098 people, 363 households, and 267 families residing in the town. The population density was 112.2/km (290.7/mi ). There were 387 housing units at an average density of 39.5/km (102.4/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 84.15% White, 7.29% African American, 0.18% Native American, 1.91% Asian, 4.10% from other races, and 2.37% from two or more races.
