Ocean View is located at 38 °32 27 N, 75 °5 49 W (38.540751, -75.096840) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 5.3 km (2.0 mi ), all land.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 1,006 people, 458 households, and 321 families residing in the town. The population density was 191.3/km (495.0/mi ). There were 751 housing units at an average density of 142.8/km (369.6/mi ). The racial makeup of the town was 97.42% White, 1.09% African American, 0.20% Native American, 0.50% Asian, and 0.80% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.19% of the population.

There were 458 households out of which 19.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.0% were married couples living together, 6.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 29.9% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 13.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.20 and the average family size was 2.61.
