Hayfork is a census-designated place (CDP) in Trinity County, California, United States. The population was 2,315 at the 2000 census. Orignally named Kingsberrys, after the first Euro-American family to settle there, it was established in 1851.

Hayfork is located at 40 °34 17 N, 123 °8 48 W (40.571406, -123.146619) GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 403.0 km (155.6 mi ). 402.8 km (155.5 mi ) of it is land and 0.2 km (0.1 mi ) of it (0.05%) is water.

As of the census GR2 of 2000, there were 2,315 people, 964 households, and 618 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 5.7/km (14.9/mi ). There were 1,157 housing units at an average density of 2.9/km (7.4/mi ). The racial makeup of the CDP was 84.71% White, 0.13% African American, 8.34% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.39% from other races, and 6.26% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.92% of the population.
